At Ergo Pro Consulting we believe that work shouldn’t hurt.
You shouldn’t have to suffer through long days in uncomfortable, or painful work conditions. I specialize in helping people resolve persistent and complicated office ergo issues and I may be able to help you too. From the C-suite to the call center floor, I’ve helped thousands of people resolve their ergo problems including; chronic headaches, neck pain, eye strain, upper back pain, lower arm pain, hand, wrist pain, and lower back pain. I’m particularly skilled at helping people with persistent pain problems that haven’t responded to other attempts.
I can teach you how your body likes to work.
As a Certified Professional Ergonomist, I know a lot about ergonomics, and when combined with my experience in physical rehab, wellness counseling, and human performance coaching, I’m able to bring 30 years of wisdom to helping make your work better. I’ve performing thousands of evaluations, and based on participant feedback, I know what works and what doesn’t work in office ergonomics and I’m not afraid to call ‘bull shiitake’ on a lot of the ergo crap you find elsewhere.
There is a lot of Misinformation out there.
Common misinformation like telling you to sit up straight, like a robot, with 90-degree angles at the ankles, knees, hips, and elbows isn’t harmful, but it’s not natural and it can be uncomfortable for many people. And incorrect advice like telling you to place your monitor at eye-level or even higher is just plain wrong and can cause three types of eye strain. These are just the tip of the iceberg – there is lots more incomplete or incorrect pseudo ergonomics advice out there promoted by someone who might have earned a certificate at a weekend short course or learned (some) ergonomics on the job.
Learn how to get your best fit.
When I work with you, I will help you identify and correct many of the ergo myths you may have been using. I’ll show you how to find your best fit at the workstation, whether your concern is with the upper body, hand-wrist-arms, or in the lower body. In many cases we first need to spend some time teaching you about how a particular body part likes to move then we can introduce new ways of working that can reduce or eliminate your ergo problems. Sometimes it’s as simple as; Adjust your chair, adjust your computer equipment, then move and change position. In other cases, it’s a more nuanced micro issue that’s causing your pain problems. Either way, I’ve done enough of this that I can probably help you identify the problem and find a fix.
